There are thousands of affiliate marketers running affiliate marketing programs but not all of them are successful. I feel it is the attitude and the methods that the affiliates employ, that contribute to their success.

However, there are many other efforts that go behind a successful affiliate program. I am sure that after going through these tips you would agree with me on this point.

• The very first tip is to choose the right product. This may require you to to have a good understanding of the market trends and demands for various products. The important thing is not only to choose a product that has a hot market value but also a product which is close to your interest, so, that you can add a personal touch to the promotion of the product.
• The key factor in any affiliate program is relevance. Unless there is some relevance between the product and the affiliates site, there is no scope for the product to get promoted. Consider an example, where you wish to promote cameras while your own site deals with shoes. How in the world is the user going to relate a shoe with a camera? So, you necessarily need to check for relevance.
• Another very interesting factor is uniqueness. The usual promotional measures are going to be followed by everyone. For you to be in the spotlight, you need to be really unique in your approach. Your uniqueness is reflected in the way in which you plan out your site architecture and the strategy you use to promote your products, that lets you stand out in crowd.
• Being an affiliate, you may be required to recommend several products. The important thing is to recommend only those products which are worth it. In case you recommend products that don’t work well, your own reputation comes on stake. So, you need to be really careful before you start promoting a product.
• Moreover, always check for the usability of the product. Only if the product has a high user demand, can you expect to receive a positive feedback. Isn’t this exactly what you want from your users, a positive feedback so that they come back to your site again and again.
